In her role as the Department Manager of Motion Capture at WētāFX, Kim Rickard draws on her foundation skills and experience in live-action film, crew management and production. The Motion Capture department is comprised of two main teams. One dedicated to virtual production and performance capture data acquisition, and the other responsible for delivering the processed data to downstream departments. For the first aspect Kim acts as an operational manager, partnering with the Virtual Production Supervisor and other leaders in the department to ensure both crew and equipment are available to service client location shoots and in-house captures on WētāFX’s Mocap stage in Wellington. For the post-processing Kim works with the Motion Capture Supervisor and the Motion Capture Department Production Manager to resource the crew needs of multiple shows coming through the department.
Kim acts principally at the show forecasting level and is more involved with overall crew availability and longer term planning, rather than the shot work throughput/targets. Along with recruitment for the team, general crew welfare and career development and training, Kim is also involved in bidding for shoots and post-processing work and works directly with show producers/teams to ensure all projects coming through the Motion Capture department are delivered on time and within budget. The Motion Capture Department at WētāFX sits anywhere between thirty five and fifty people, and is proud to have teams in both Wellington and Melbourne.

She embarked on her career at Dreamworks, where she immersed herself in exciting projects like Kung Fu Panda and Trolls for three years.
Seeking new horizons, she ventured to Melbourne in early 2017 to delve into the realm of VFX at Iloura, which later transitioned into Method Studios. VFX gave her the opportunity to learn and grow.

Sarra started her career in feature animation production in 2001 at Walt Disney Animation Australia in Sydney.
Since then, she has worked at Animation and VFX houses such as Animal Logic, Digital Domain and Blue Sky as a Production Supervisor. Sarra took a break from the industry to start a family in 2017.
She then joined Like A Photon Creative in 2021 as a Line Producer and Producer.
In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music and teaching her daughters about music from the “olden days”.

His recent shift to feature films follows a successful career in managing production for 2D and 3D animated series, TV commercials, and web content. His portfolio includes work for a diverse range of clients, such as Thomas the Tank Engine and the ABC's award-winning "Tjitji Lullaby" and "Marringa Lullaby."

In 2020, Emily worked at Cutting Edge as a post coordinator. Here, she managed schedules and media operations for TV shows such as "Amazing Race Australia," "Home and Away," "Lego Monkey Kid," and "SAS Australia."
She started her career as a production manager at Pixel Zoo Studios. Her work involved collaborating with prominent brands like Mattel, MGA, Moonbug Entertainment, and Moose Toys on a diverse range of projects, including advertisements, TV series, movies, and music videos.
